Nonprofits doing business in Redwood City (or those approved by the library) have use of all rooms free of charge for community meetings, based on availability (call to see if you qualify). There is a large Community Room that can seat over a hundred without tables and 4 additional meeting rooms that can accommodate as few as 3 or as many as many as 78. The rooms are beautiful with a variety of amenities, and there is even a café that can provide catering for your meeting, or where you can just drop in for a bite.
Go to the website at http://rcpl.info/ebranch/redwoodshores.html for more information or to book a room. Fees for non-qualifying nonprofits and nonresident groups are very reasonable, starting as low as $55 per hour.
The library itself is a wonder, with over 22,000 square feet of space and a nautical theme. There are interactive displays of the ecosystem of the surrounding estuary remeniscent of the science museums in San Francisco or Monterey.
There is a great area for kids and a room for teens, away from the books with comfortable seating and a video setup for TV and games.
