On Thursday, June 24, Thrive held its Quarterly Meeting at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation Conference Center in San Mateo.  The featured speaker was Susan Loftus, City Manager of the City of San Mateo (seen at left with Porcia Silverberg, Executive Director of Thrive). 

Ms. Loftus presented a PowerPoint show on shared services, and recounted success stories of how sharing of services has worked in the City of San Mateo.

After the Quarterly Meeting, Communications Consultant and Thrive member, Melinda Henning presented a free bonus workshop called the "7 Secrets to Power Presenting."  Workshoppers learned how to pull together a speech in minimal time, and how to present it with enthusiasm using stories and without the use of notes.
