Government officials and staff work hand-in-hand with
nonprofits to provide essential services to our local communities. Many nonprofit
organizations engage in direct contracts with the county to provide services, and
many more leverage additional funding and provide programs that complement
county services. Nonprofit staff members are also important resources for
the county, serving on many of the local advisory boards and commissions.
At the same time, government funding and policy greatly impact the way nonprofit
organizations operate in San Mateo County. As a result, Thrive recognizes the
importance of maintaining open communication and positive working relationships
with our elected officials and government staff.
The following resources are provided to encourage greater information
flow and networking among nonprofits and government officials and
staff serving San Mateo County. If you would like to recommend other
resources to be included in this list, please contact webmaster@thrivealliance.org.
