Nonprofit-Grantmaker Relations:
Tools for Trust and Transparency-

A Fireside Chat with Jessamyn and Jan

About the Session

Join Jessamyn and Jan for a candid conversation on how nonprofits and grantmakers can build even stronger, more authentic relationships. Not one nonprofit-grantmaker relationship is the same, but the best partnerships stand out. This session will explore examples where nonprofits and grantmakers successfully work together as teams, providing each other constructive feedback and moving toward a common vision.

Jan and Jessamyn will share stories from the field and invite dialogue and input on the topic. In addition, they will provide a behind-the-scenes look at a new project and platform that aims to help transform the way that nonprofits provide feedback to grantmakers - a tool called GrantAdvisor.

GrantAdvisor is a website that facilitates open dialogue between nonprofits and grantmakers by collecting authentic, real-time reviews and comments on grantseekers' experiences working with funders to encourage more productive philanthropy. GrantAdvisor will launch simultaneously in California and Minnesota in July 2017, with new locations and partnerships to be announced in 2018.

This session is open only to nonprofit staff and volunteers. We especially invite executive directors and development staff to join to share their experiences as grantees and grant seekers. GrantAdvisor representatives will also be there to answer technical questions.

Coffee, tea, and light refreshments will be served for this fireside chat.
