Leadership Circle Luncheon

Hosting Leadership Circle Luncheons has become one of our favorite quarterly traditions. Last week, we brought together nonprofit executives and CEOs to discuss the growing nonprofit recruitment and retention challenge, explore creative solutions, and share success stories.

Our featured speaker, Barrie Hathaway, President and CEO, JobTrain led the group in a discussion about emerging trends and successful strategies that can help nonprofits overcome some pressing human resources challenges. For those who missed this event, we compiled a short list of ideas for improving employee retention and motivation that were brainstormed and discussed by the participants:

  • Telecommuting and remote working arrangements

  • Recognizing employees for their efforts and accomplishment

  • Providing transportation services in collaboration with other organizations

  • Tuition reimbursement

  • Investing, where possible, in staff development

  • Mentoring and coaching

  • Providing discounts for self-care services like yoga, fitness or swimming lessons.

We really enjoyed hosting this luncheon in a private section of JobTrain's Rendezvous Cafe with delicious food (the cafe served up a hot buffet) and with a great company!
