Arts & Culture TAG: Arts Advocacy 101

The San Mateo County Arts Commission and Thrive, the Alliance of Nonprofits of San Mateo County

is proud to present a workshop: The Power to Create Change by Ron P. Muniera, Vice President, Californians for the Arts.

What is Advocacy? What does it look like? How can I be an effective advocate?

Advocacy is about educating and informing elected officials, the public, community partners, and the media about the importance of the arts. It is up to artists/creatives, arts & cultural organizations, and our supporters to educate and explain to elected officials the value of arts and culture, and the impact it makes in our communities.

The workshop’s goal is to develop, train, and mobilize arts advocates to grow an arts advocacy network and strengthen our collective voice for arts and culture.

Please take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to share your arts impact stories and advocate for your organizations!
