Upward Scholars is a mission-driven organization that helps students overcome the financial and academic barriers that may limit their success. The Program Coordinator will support the Executive Director to reach Upward Scholars’ goals and accomplish our mission. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for developing and administering key Upward Scholars programs including the Tutor/Mentor program, the Conversation Club, the Gig Economy Training program, and the Nanny Training program.

The person who holds this position will become or be a state certified ombudsman with supervisory responsibilities for a group of field ombudsman. The regional coordinator will work towards meeting the facility coverage plan within the area assigned to him/her, and will supervise/monitor the field ombudsmen in the performance of their duties.
The LGBTQ+ Victim Advocate conducts meaningful community outreach and educational workshops about LGBTQ-specific domestic violence relationships; collaborates with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to increase awareness and access to services as well as promote positive outcomes for LGBTQ+ relationship abuse; and develops and disseminates information and resources within CORA and throughout the community. The LGBTQ+ Victim Advocate will be stationed at CORA’s Community Office, and will be expected to travel to and from the Transitional Housing apartments, Emergency Safe houses, and our Satellite locations as needed.

The purpose of this position is to provide housing advocacy, case management and supportive services for domestic violence survivors and their families while they increase their self-sufficiency and transition into permanent housing. The Family Advocate will assess eligibility in transitional housing, provide case management and advocacy toward personal safety and increased self-sufficiency, provide education around budgeting and similar life skills, and assist families in locating and determining appropriateness of long-term housing options. The position will also provide support to CORA’s other supportive housing programs. This position involves responsibilities at multiple sites throughout San Mateo County.
