Under the leadership of the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the administrative operations of the department related to the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual, foundation, corporate prospects and donors, and special events. This role will also take the lead on the continued development and organizing special events, liaising with program staff on Club events, relationships with program staff, and administrating grants.

For the last 65 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County (BGCNSMC) has been a community pillar and a positive, driving force for youth academic empowerment and leadership. BGNSMC is a dynamic and responsive nonprofit organization in North San Mateo County. We partner with schools and the community to ensure that youth of our community are provided with the opportunities, experiences, and support to redefine possibilities, and chart courses to great futures. We serve 3,000 youth at five sites throughout Pacifica and South San Francisco. BGCNSMC reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn at school. We create opportunities for high-yield learning and literacy activities. Our programs are designed to ensure that all Club members graduate from high school on time, ready for a post-secondary education, and a 21st-century career.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Development Administration (50%)
Maintain donor database and process all donor acknowledgements in a timely manner including data entry, credit card processing, and check deposit;
Ensure personalized recognition of all gifts including drafting acknowledgement letters and tracking and coordinating personal acknowledgements to be made by Development Director;
Assist with production of sponsor/donor materials (brochures, program materials, solicitation letters);
Special Events (25%)
Support planning, logistics, and set-up for special events, including our annual luncheon and Youth of the Year celebrations;
Coordinate donor appreciation events and special appeals;
Help coordinate auctions, raffles and other donor entertainment appeals;
Lead post event stewardship efforts;
Grant/Contract Management (25%)
Maintain application and reporting calendar;
Assist Dir of Development with obtaining programmatic information as needed;
Manage grant system in Donor Perfect to track proposals, reports, giving history, and records of funder relationships;
Provide administrative support to ensure completion of applications and reports;
ESSENTIAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Exceptional, effective verbal communication and writing skills;
Strong attention to detail, great work ethic and impeccable organizational skills;
A ‘people person’ with the ability to build relationships among staff, Club Members, and donors;
Multi-task efficiently while managing a high-volume workload in a fast-paced, changing environment;
Resourceful, flexible, team-player with a positive “can do” attitude and a sense of humor; open to change, learning, and improvement;
Ability to work flexible hours that will include evenings and some weekends;
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent experience;
Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience (administrative and/or fundraising);
Proficiency in technology platforms such as Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR IDEAL CANDIDATE
Minimum of 3-4 years work experience in a development or communications role;
Experience in managing a donor database (Donor Perfect preferred) and familiarity with QuickBooks (non-profit accounting version)
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Minimal travel is required for this role but may include visits to any of our 5 Clubhouses in South San Francisco and Pacifica for special events and meetings. Occasional travel may occur to attend Boys & Girls Clubs of America special trainings and events.

Salary: Competitive with other nonprofits and commensurate with experience
Health benefits: BGCNSMC pays 100% of premiums for medical, dental for the employee, PLUS BGNSMC also pays 100% for either dependents or spouse of the employee;
Retirement benefits: BGCNSMC contributes 5% of salary to 401(k) plan after one year of employment
