Development Director - Peninsula YMCA

The Peninsula Family YMCA seeks a Development Director to plan, organize and direct fundraising efforts which allow us to achieve our mission and maximize our impact throughout the San Mateo community. You are a self-starter capable of crafting creative solutions and opening doors to new donor/partner relationships; you’re also an enthusiastic leader who can successfully manage diverse teams to reach a common goal.

Under the direction of the Sr. Executive Director, the Development Director provides cause-driven leadership for marketing, communications and fundraising endeavors including: grant writing, annual campaigns, special fundraising events, community outreach and partnership development.

The Development Director will lead the branch’s communications and marketing plans, ensuring greater visibility and awareness of the Y’s programs and services throughout San Mateo County. This position requires knowledge of fund development practices, YMCA fundraising techniques and the ability to cultivate personal contacts with donors, potential donors and the board of managers in order to raise significant revenue for the branch. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Grow individual & corporate giving program to include identification, cultivation, solicitation of gifts and stewardship

  • Lead grant program to include research, proposal writing and reporting

  • Direct annual campaign program to include employee giving, board giving and community giving

  • Coordinate fundraising special events

  • Liaison with the fundraising and partnership development committees of the Board of Managers

  • Manage fundraising database, tracking and budgeting systems

Compensation

  • $58,000 - $68,000

  • Full medical & dental provided for employee. Additional insurance, vision & dependant coverage at low-cost employee contribution.
