HSF – Annual Giving/Donor Engagement Associate

Position Summary:

The Hillsborough Schools Foundation (HSF) seeks an Annual Giving/Donor Engagement Associate. As one of the first nonprofit public school foundations in the country, HSF raises over $3.5 million annually through parent and community annual giving campaigns, fundraising events, and corporate partnerships. These funds support all areas of curriculum for the Hillsborough City School District which is comprised of three elementary schools and one middle school. The Annual Giving/Donor Engagement Associate reports to the Executive Director and supports the organization’s large corps of very active parent volunteers.

Position Summary:

The HSF mission is to work in partnership with parents and the community to raise funds that support an excellent education beyond what is possible with public funding for all Hillsborough City School District students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies for the organization, including meeting presentations, communications, and timelines

  • Ensure all donors receive appropriate, accurate, and consistent engagement/acknowledgement

  • Support volunteers to create and manage campaigns and to develop cultivation and solicitation strategies

  • Analyze annual giving data, including effective giving trends, major donor prospect identification, and school participation

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the annual campaign including fundraising expenses, parent and community engagement, volunteer satisfaction/retention, and overall success of the campaign

  • Support philanthropic culture of the organization including stewarding donors and volunteers

  • Gift and donor database entry, including precise maintenance of all donor records

  • Write and update thank you letters and other donor correspondence

Qualifications

  • Confidentiality, enthusiasm, and flexibility are key attributes

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player

  • Experience working with volunteers

  • Occasional evenings and weekends for event purposes

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office programs

  • Demonstrated experience or comfort using donor database

  • Familiarity with graphic design software a plus
