About Homework Central

Homework Central (HWC) is a community-based, educational nonprofit that provides after school tutoring for students and support to their families. HWC operates four homework sites, two hours/day, Monday-Thursday. Our goal is to create a community of lifelong learners.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide homework assistance for 3rd-5th graders

  • Assist with snack time: prepare, serve, and clean up after student snack time

  • Assist students with the use of Chromebooks and other technology onsite

  • Support the Site Coordinator in assigned tasks

  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and professional development sessions

Qualifications

  • Reliable with a positive attitude

  • Communicate clearly with children and adults

  • Act responsibly and respectfully

  • Able to commit to two days a week for a minimum of 6 months.

  • Must be enrolled in a high school or college

  • Applicants under 18 year old must have a valid work permit from their high school.

  • Applicants 18 and over must submit a LiveScan fingerprinting paid for by Homework Central.

Employment Type:

Part-time, Non-Exempt

Time Commitment:

2 - 3 days a week during the school year (M, Tu, Th 2:30-5:30; W 12:30-3:30)

Compensation & Benefits:

$13.50 per hour through December 31, 2019; $15.00 after January 1, 2020. Three days paid sick time available three months from the start date.
