Thrive – Marketing Intern

We are looking for a part-time marketing intern to help promote and support Thrive Job Board. Thrive Job Board is a free platform where you can find new job and volunteer opportunities in the Silicon Valley nonprofit sector. As a marketing intern, you will learn how to update and maintain the website, design and create job newsletters, and execute marketing campaigns to promote the platform. Tech-savvy candidates interested in marketing are encouraged to apply.

Thrive, The Alliance of Nonprofits for San Mateo (Thrive) is a robust, trusted network of nonprofit organizations, businesses, government agencies, elected officials and civic leaders. Thrive helps to build the capacity of nonprofits, large and small, to strengthen San Mateo County's critical community organizations and connections. In an increasingly technology-driven world, Thrive is real people, meeting real challenges, with real collaboration — on the ground, face-to-face, 200 strong and counting.

Project details:

  • Maintain and weekly update the website with new job opportunities in the Silicon Valley nonprofit sector.

  • Design and create weekly job newsletters.

  • Ideate, create, and execute marketing campaign to promote Thrive Job Board among nonprofit professionals. Design marketing collaterals to promote the platform.

  • Monitor website performance and measure KPIs using Google Analytics.

The ideal candidate:

  • Pursuing a liberal arts education, a marketing degree, a communications degree, and/or have a strong interest in marketing and/or promoting social good.

  • Passionate about community building, civil engagement, and sustainability of the nonprofit sector.

  • Has excellent writing and editing skills.

  • Detail oriented, has can-do personality, and comfortable in a small office setting.

Marketing & Membership Manager


This is a part time position (up to 10 hours weekly). Compensation commensurate with experience.
