CIVIC Participation: Voting & Strengthening Democracy
Thrive’s civic engagement initiative ensures that San Mateo County’s diverse population is engaged and represented. We believe that making our government more representative and ensuring that diverse voices are heard creates a more robust democracy, and we support those values through educational events and advocacy.
Examples of past events are Building a Better Pipeline: Supporting Diverse Political Candidates for a Stronger Democracy, Mix & Mingle with Your State Senate Candidates and Votes, Voters And Voting: Get Out the Vote, Campaigning, and Elections in the Era of Covid-19 featuring Jonathan Mehta Stein, Executive Director of Common Cause California. Upcoming trainings will include Advocacy and Lobbying for 501(c)3 Nonprofit Advocates and Seize the Initiative: Nonprofit Organizations and Ballot Measure Campaigns.
