Nonprofit Capacity Building

Thrive’s Nonprofit Capacity Building services focus on building the capacity of nonprofits to help them solve the most urgent challenges that impact their work and ability to meet their clients’ needs.

Thrive surveyed nonprofit leadership staff to determine the most urgent unmet needs and challenges of local nonprofits that serve San Mateo County communities and beyond. According to the survey findings, aside from fundraising, the top four issues are:

  1. Hiring and retaining employees

  2. Spreading the word about our organization

  3. Staff leadership development

  4. Recruiting qualified board members

To provide real value to nonprofit organizations in San Mateo County and to strengthen their sustainability and effectiveness, our key capacity-building offerings were developed to address these particular nonprofit challenges.
