The conversation will be led by a group of Bay Area development professionals and will be followed by industry specific breakout sessions.

Vinney Arora, Founder, Arora Collective

Vinney Arora is the founder of The Arora Collective, a boutique nonprofit consulting firm. In 2014, Vinney also co-founded PartyChild.org, a grassroots organization that hosts birthday parties for homeless and low-income children. In 2015, he was awarded the “Young Innovator” award from the Thrive Alliance for his work in leading donor engagement at StarVista. Vinney started his career in education teaching preschool at the Peninsula JCC. He’s celebrating his 22nd year in nonprofit work and speaks nationally about fund development, being an introvert, and being a leader of color in the social change space.

Nivisha Mehta, Chief Development Officer, RAFT

Nivisha Mehta brings 18 years of experience in major gift fundraising, grant writing, special event planning and sponsorship, marketing, and program strategy and development for nonprofit organizations. In that time, she has raised over $9 million and developed expertise in fundraising across diverse ethnic communities in the Bay Area. Nivisha has been a senior philanthropy/major gifts officer for many large Bay Area nonprofit organizations such as the American Red Cross, Alum Rock Counseling Center, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, IIT Madras Foundation, El Camino Hospital Foundation for their South Asian Heart Center, and Hope Services.

Sachi Yoshii, VP Strategy & External Relations, East Bay Community Foundation

Sachi Yoshii leads the strategic direction and implementation of EBCF’s vision to advance a just East Bay. She started her career in philanthropy at The Atlantic Philanthropies working in a range of departments. Sachi has also worked as a strategic consultant with a focus on development of community infrastructure in the Bay Area through public/private partnerships. She serves on the Board of Directors for New Breath Foundation. Sachi is a native East Bay resident. Sachi received a dual-degree MBA from Columbia Business School and London Business School and a Bachelor’s degree from the UC, Santa Cruz.
