CASSY - Counseling and Support Services for Youth: Director of Finance and Operations

CASSY - Counseling and Support Services for Youth is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations (DF&O) to join our leadership team. The DF&O will be responsible for overseeing all financial management, operations, and administrative systems that support the organization’s mission. About CASSY - Counseling and Support Services for Youth:

Counseling and Support Services for Youth (CASSY) is a nonprofit organization located in the Bay Area that collaborates with schools to ensure that mental health support is accessible to every student. Their mission is centered around de-stigmatizing mental health services and enhancing the social and emotional well-being of students, enabling them to thrive both academically and personally. CASSY currently provides free, on-campus counseling and mental health programs to students in grades K–12 across more than 35 school sites in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, audits, and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, grant, and regulatory standards.

  • Oversee accounting, vendor relations, and banking operations.

  • Partner with the Executive Director, Board Treasurer, and Finance Committee on financial planning and analysis.

  • Supervise administrative and finance staff; coordinate HR operations with the Senior People Operations Manager.

  • Enhance systems to support efficiency and growth across 35+ employees.

  • Manage facilities, IT systems, and vendor contracts.

  • Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in operational practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s preferred.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive nonprofit finance and operations leadership experience.

  • Experience managing $2–5M budgets and supporting multi-site organizations.

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, and HR/payroll systems.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and collaborative management.

Compensation

  • Annual salary range: $96,000 – $104,000 (0.80 FTE)
