Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center: Youth Impact Coordinator

The Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center is seeking a Youth Impact Coordinator for a school-based role focused on fostering inclusive, community-centered, and restorative school cultures. This position involves direct engagement with students, strategic coaching, facilitation, and data-driven leadership to enhance social-emotional growth, transform conflicts, and promote a sense of belonging within the school. The Youth Impact Coordinator will work closely with school leadership and staff to implement restorative frameworks and support the development of student-centered practices and programs. The ideal candidate should be a relational leader capable of connecting with a diverse range of students, demonstrating cultural humility and responsiveness, and serving as a consistent presence in the school community.

Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center (PCRC) was established in 1986 by a small group of concerned residents who wanted to help their neighbors resolve disputes. Since then, PCRC has grown to serve thousands of residents across the county each year, and has earned the reputation of being a highly knowledgeable and effective organization – buoyed by its unique ability to encourage the collective strengths of individuals, families and organizations to help improve communication, community engagement and conflict resolution throughout San Mateo County.

Responsibilities

  • Campus Culture and Restorative Implementation

    • Ensure program congruence with PCRC’s mission, vision, values, and business plan

    • Guide the implementation of school-wide restorative practices in alignment with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

    • Collaborate with site administrators and staff to embed restorative strategies in disciplinary responses, community-building, and classroom culture

    • Design and deliver responsive community-building circles, conflict circles, and re-entry support

    • Mentor and coach student leaders in restorative approaches, peer accountability, and conflict navigation

    • Build strong, trusting relationships across diverse student populations, ensuring inclusive and culturally responsive approaches

    • Facilitate student-teacher-parent conferences and peer mediation processes

    • Provide coaching support and behavioral consultation for individual students or small groups as needed

    • Reinforce school-wide expectations and practices aligned with PCRC and school goals

  • Training and Professional Learning

    • Develop and deliver workshops and trainings for students, staff, and families

    • Adapt and design curriculum and facilitation materials in alignment with PCRC’s standards, with prior approval from both school site and PCRC supervisor

    • Provide classroom-based support and modeling as part of site strategies to strengthen school culture and restorative discipline

  • Administrative Accountability

    • Lead site-specific data reporting, tracking program outcomes, services delivered, and impact stories

    • Follow all school and PCRC protocols for service documentation using appropriate systems (e.g., Apricot)

    • Conduct intake meetings, gather feedback, and ensure timely reporting of metrics to school and PCRC supervisors

    • Participate in debriefs, team meetings, and collaborative planning sessions

    • Meet data and other administrative deliverables

  • PCRC Representation and Collaboration

    • Represent PCRC in the community and connect the agency with potential individual, community, and institutional partners

    • Participate in internal PCRC initiatives, trainings, and community events

    • Participate as an agency member in various meetings and events

    • Mediate, facilitate, and train as needed by the agency

    • Engaging in other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Trained in restorative practices

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Restorative Justice, or a related field; OR a minimum of 3 years of experience in school-based restorative practices, youth engagement, or SEL-related roles

  • Applied training and experience in restorative justice, conflict resolution, PBIS, trauma-informed practices, or similar frameworks

  • Proven ability to build inclusive, trust-based relationships across racial, cultural, linguistic, and ability-based differences

  • Strong facilitation and group management skills, including the ability to hold space for challenging conversations and navigate emotionally charged situations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, educators, administrators, and families

  • Experience with program documentation, data tracking, and using data to inform interventions and decision-making Self-directed, adaptable, and responsive to the dynamics of school sites and partner needs

  • Demonstrated professionalism, neutrality, and integrity in high-stakes environments

  • Commitment to PCRC’s mission, values, and standards of professionalism

  • Completion of a background check and fingerprinting required

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required

Compensation

PCRC is prepared to offer a competitive compensation package, which includes the anticipated starting $30 per hour and increase to $31.25 following a successful introductory period completion. In addition, PCRC has a generous time off policy, which includes 13 paid holidays, 4 floating holidays, 10 vacation days, and sick days. Employer-covered medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages are available for election.
