Puente de la Costa Sur is looking for a Communications Associate. The Communications Associate will oversee the daily operations of Puente's communications, focusing on outreach to community members, marketing efforts, and fundraising initiatives. This includes supporting events, designing promotional materials, and managing our online presence. The role collaborates with all Puente teams to enhance engagement programs, coordinate events, and facilitate fundraising activities, while also implementing the organization's communications strategy and practices.

Responsibilities
Manage the organization's social media presence. This includes creating posts, developing content calendars, monitoring engagement, and generating analytics.
Update and maintain website content accurately and on an ongoing basis.
Design monthly newsletters and other ongoing e-blasts.
Proofread all communications materials to ensure clarity, tone, and brand alignment in both online and printed collateral materials
Maintain clear and consistent messaging and branding online and in print and create and produce collateral materials for printing and social media posting
Work with program staff to collect content, capture the story of Puente, and share the message to the broader community through our online platforms.
Create content and programs with outreach to our community members through our phone texting platform
Stay current on market research, monitor and compile media coverage for Fund Development Director and support with emerging trends that support our mission
Maintain photo library account and organize for future use in publications
Support with photography at events and document day-to-day activities of program with periodic photo shoots and support with ongoing program video productions. This includes supporting sound equipment set-up, and other equipment (interpretation, video)
Maintain communications materials and archive, including support with shared team workflows
Assist with all donor-related campaigns including mailings, phone calls and other campaign logistics
Support the Fund Development team as needed
Attend staff meetings, retreats, and other meetings as needed and participate in organizational events, including training, fundraising and program meetings
Drive participants as needed for programming or organizational needs using Puente vehicles and/or personal vehicles
Puente de la Costa Sur has the right to update job descriptions as needed to meet the needs of the organization
Provide organizational support as needed
Qualifications
Minimum education of AA OR at least three years of relevant professional experience
Experience with Microsoft Office applications, Mailchimp, YouTube, social media platforms and Canva
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (mainly InDesign)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work some weekends and evenings when required
Demonstrated ability to use judgement, insight, and intuition to embrace and share the Puente’s mission, vision and goals.
Ability to adapt easily to new protocols and changing environments, work collaboratively with a diverse group of community members with fairness, respect, consistency and integrity
Ability to work independently, creative ability, a positive outlook, an excellent work ethic, and adaptable to change, multi-task, meet deadlines, and work as a self-starter and problem solve when needed
The ability to work using a computer for long periods of time
Support team with organizing, set-up and clean up for fundraising related events. English language skills preferred Spanish desired
Experience working in a hybrid environment, preferred
Knowledge of the South Coast or experience working in a rural community, preferred
Ability to work effectively as part of a culturally diverse team
Availability to work some nights a week and occasionally on weekends
Competent written communication skills in English and Spanish
Competent skills with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook and TEAMS
Current California Driver’s License and ability to drive to work related functions in and around Pescadero, La Honda, Loma Mar, San Gregorio, Half Moon Bay and the Bay Area.

Compensation
Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
