The PJCC seeks a motivated, goal-oriented professional to serve as an integral member of the Development team. The Director, Leadership and Legacy plays a critical role in the PJCC’s fundraising and donor stewardship efforts. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role ensures capacity by identifying and soliciting leadership-level gifts through Chai Society, PJCC’s leadership giving group ($1,800-$10,000) and establishing a strong pipeline for planned gifts. As part of the Development team, the Director, Leadership and Legacy secures commitments for PJCC’s Chai Society (leadership giving), Legacy Society (planned giving), and additional campaigns to support meaningful philanthropic engagement and achievement of fundraising goals.

Responsibilities
Donor Engagement & Portfolio Management
Develop annual goals and strategies for leadership and legacy giving in alignment with departmental fundraising objectives.
Track and report progress toward goals using the CRM and other reporting tools.
Research, qualify, and manage a pipeline of prospects and donors, building successful relationships that lead to philanthropic support at the leadership level and for planned giving.
Qualify prospects and prioritize engagement strategies based on capacity, interest, and readiness.
Support Legacy Committee and Chai Society (Leadership Giving) Chairs.
Strategically solicit leadership and planned gifts, including multi-year commitments and documented legacy intentions, in collaboration with the CDO and lay leaders as appropriate.
In partnership with CDO and Legacy Committee Chair, integrate strategies to identify and develop planned giving prospects within portfolios.
Cultivation & Relationship Building
Build long-term, trust-based relationships with donors, advisors, and family members.
Develop individualized engagement plans aligned with donor interests and organizational priorities.
Arrange and conduct meaningful donor meetings (in-person, virtual, events, site visits).
Remain current on planned giving trends, vehicles, and related information.
Events and Stewardship:
Plan and execute donor receptions and events for Chai Society and Legacy Society.
Develop a stewardship matrix, including opportunities to connect portfolio to PJCC programs.
Create endowment and stewardship reports and materials as needed.
Other:
Attend organizational and departmental meetings and events.
Represent PJCC at external events and in the community.
Liaise with board members and volunteers as required.
Manage special projects and other duties as assigned.
Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
5-7 years in a fundraising role with progressive responsibility
Demonstrated success soliciting in-person annual gifts
Experience soliciting planned gifts and knowledge of planned giving
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Experience with project management and ability to plan and lead projects to achieve outcomes
CRM experience (preferably Salesforce NPSP or equivalent) and PC literacy with strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated ability to work with and maintain confidential information
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with colleagues, donors, lay leaders, prospects, and vendors
Flexible team player with a willingness to pitch in on projects and tasks

Compensation
$110,000.00 - $130,000.00 Salary
