El Centro de Libertad: Certified SUD Counselor

El Centro de Libertad is seeking a Certified Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor. The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will be responsible for providing outpatient counseling services, care coordination, and case management for individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will be client-centered, organized, and dedicated to supporting recovery through evidence-based practices.

About El Centro de Libertad:

El Centro de Libertad (ECDL) is a nonprofit agency based in Redwood City, CA. Our mission is to provide culturally responsive, outpatient substance use treatment services to adults and youth living in urban and rural communities throughout San Mateo County.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.

  • Complete substance use assessments and develop individualized treatment plans and problems list.

  • Provide outpatient substance use counseling in accordance with treatment plans and problems list.

  • Deliver case management services, including client linkage, navigation, and referrals to supportive services.

  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA and standards of care using the Electronic Health Record System.

  • Administer and document periodic drug testing.

  • Track client participation from intake through discharge planning.

  • Participate in clinical supervision, required trainings, and agency meetings.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of substance use counseling experience, and Currently Certified OR

  • Licensed LCSW or LMFT.

Additional requirements:

  • Experience facilitating groups and workshops; familiarity with Motivational Interviewing preferred and other Evidence-Based Practices.

  • Ability to work a variable schedule, including some evening hours.

  • Ability to work on-site in Redwood City, with travel as needed to Half Moon Bay and other San Mateo County locations.

  • In good standing with a professional association recognized by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), such as CAADE, CADTP, or CCAPP.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bilingual Spanish/English (read, write, and speak) strongly preferred.

Compensation

  • $32.20 - $36.00 an hour
