One Life Counseling Center/Allcove: Bilingual Mental Health Licensed Therapist (LMFT/LPCC/LCSW)

One Life Counseling Center, in partnership with allcove, is looking for a Bilingual Mental Health Licensed Therapist (LMFT/LPCC/LCSW) for a part-time position at the allcove youth drop-in facility located in San Mateo, California. This role involves providing short-term behavioral health services to youth aged 12 to 25. As a therapist, you will work in a milieu-style environment alongside a team of pediatricians and peer support staff. The position requires on-site presence to deliver in-person therapeutic services to the youth and their families or support persons.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Direct Service: Deliver therapy services to youth and their families using the allcove™ model of care, which includes individual and/or group therapy sessions, as well as running support groups.

  • Assessment and Treatment Planning: Complete thorough assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with the care team to determine ongoing treatment. Provide short-term individual, family, and group therapy as part of the treatment process.

  • Crisis Intervention and Diagnosis: Provide crisis intervention as needed and assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions in accordance with clinical guidelines.

  • Care Transitions: Identify changes in client needs and assist with appropriate transitions to higher or lower levels of care. Monitor and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

  • Treatment Progress: Regularly discuss progress toward treatment goals with clients and their families to ensure alignment with therapeutic objectives.

  • Collaboration with Medical Providers: Consult with medical doctors or other specialists regarding treatment plans and amend them as directed by the care team.

  • Referral and Transition Support: At the conclusion of therapy or when appropriate, provide a warm handoff to other services or resources, ensuring continued support for the youth and their families. This may include making referrals to other mental health professionals, community services, or specialized programs.

  • Supportive Referrals: If services are no longer needed after the 8-12 sessions in the allcove™ program, refer clients to additional supportive services, ensuring they are connected to ongoing care if necessary.

  • Collaboration with Peers and Care Teams: Work closely with other professionals, including care teams and community providers, to ensure comprehensive care and connect clients with necessary resources and support.

  • Documentation and Data Collection: Comply fully with all allcove™ and agency documentation and data collection requirements. Ensure all documentation is HIPAA-compliant and includes accurate, timely progress notes.

  • EHR Management: Utilize the agency's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to compose notes and maintain up-to-date documentation in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

  • Supervision and Professional Development: Participate in individual and group supervision to foster professional growth. Complete all required allcove™ training, including refresher courses necessary to maintain your position and license.

  • Schedule Flexibility: This position may require working evenings and some Saturdays to meet client needs.

  • Certifications: Maintain First Aid and CPR certification as required by the agency.

  • You may also be required to assist with the following tasks related to the allcove™ team and community outreach:

    • Community Engagement: Participate in tabling events, presentations (in English and/or Spanish), and co-facilitating events at allcove™.

    • Peer Specialist Support: Assist with peer specialist duties and provide support during team transitions.

    • Client Tours and Translation: Conduct tours of the allcove™ facility and provide translation services on an as-needed basis.

    • Supervision (if licensed): If you are licensed, you may be asked to provide supervision to unlicensed staff or trainees.

    • Curriculum Development: During downtime between direct service, collaborate with colleagues and leadership to design and refine therapeutic curriculum and materials that align with the needs of the youth population served. This may include creating coping strategies, skill-building exercises, and psychoeducational content.

Qualifications

  • LMFT or LCSW (active California license)

  • Experience working with adolescents/young adults

  • Strong skills in assessment, diagnosis, crisis intervention

  • Experience supervising or mentoring clinicians/peers

  • Familiarity with outcome measures and HIPAA-compliant documentation

  • Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $55–$70 per hour, depending on experience and licensure.

  • 28.5–31.5 hours/week

  • Monday–Friday, 12:45–7:00 PM \

  • 30-minute unpaid lunch

  • Required attendance at integrated team meeting (Wednesdays 12–1 PM)

  • 1–2 hours/week for internal meetings/supervision
