About Thrive

To cultivate, amplify, and advocate for a thriving nonprofit sector in San Mateo County.

Our Mission

A thriving San Mateo County, where diverse communities and nonprofits collaborate to advance equity and well-being for all.

Our Vision

Through tailored training, capacity building workshops, and emergency response, Thrive equips local nonprofits with sector-specific tools to address the needs of the community. Thrive also convenes nonprofit, public, and private sector leaders to elevate the role of nonprofits in shaping policy and driving cross-sector solutions.

Racial Justice Commitment

Thrive has demonstrated a sustained commitment to racial justice through education, community engagement, and organizational accountability. Over the years, Thrive has hosted annual Nonprofit Racial Justice Summits, including "No Going Back," "Healing Justice," and "Partnership & Collective Responsibility," and has offered trainings on cultural humility, psychological safety, and equity-centered board governance. As part of a broader nonprofit collective, Thrive has championed the Nonprofit Racial Equity Pledge, inviting organizations and individuals across the Silicon Valley nonprofit community to publicly commit to embedding diversity, inclusion, and equity into their everyday work. To support nonprofits on their own racial equity journeys, Thrive maintains a Racial Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (REDI) resource hub and has issued public solidarity statements, including a Black Lives Matter statement and a Stop AAPI Hate statement.
