Partnerships in Education

This event emerges from the Coalition for Safe Schools and Communities, formed in the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy to address the pressing need for safer schools. This year, the coalition has developed a comprehensive youth mental health plan in collaboration with San Mateo County Health, the San Mateo County Office of Education, and various stakeholders. The initiative aims to enhance mental health services for school and transition-age youth, emphasizing a holistic approach to well-being that recognizes the unique challenges faced by young people. By bringing together nonprofits, philanthropic partners, and government leaders, the event seeks to foster collaboration and engagement in implementing this vital plan for the community’s youth.

Climate Summit

Panel discussion at a conference with three people on stage sitting in black chairs with microphones, a large screen displaying panelist information, and a logo with a leaf on a colorful background.

Each year, Nuestra Casa, Climate Resilient Communities, Rise South City and Thrive Alliance collaboratively plan the Climate Summit for San Mateo County with the goal of highlighting the needs and voices of underrepresented communities that are confronting the uneven impacts of climate change.

Our vision is that every person is San Mateo County and beyond breathes clean air, drinks clean water, lives in a healthy home, and is part of a disaster-resilient community in which their voice matters. The Summit is a venue to push for the policy change, cross-sector partnerships, and power shifting necessary to achieve this vision.
