This unique convening will bring philanthropy, nonprofit, corporate, and public leaders together to: discuss the survey report about the needs of families with children who live in poverty in North San Mateo County, and the nonprofits that serve them; hear from an expert panel of local leaders and explore creative solutions to better serve families and children in need in this region; connect with each other and discuss potential partnerships toward solutions.
Topic: What current options are there for transportation for the nonprofit workforce, and what can nonprofits do to influence future transportation plans to benefit low income workers.

For most of us, tax time is a stressful time, but for many in our communities it can be life changing…in a good way! Join us to learn about the life changing effects of tax time, a new and improved California Earned Income Tax Credit as well as where to find free tax preparation assistance in San Mateo County and beyond. We’re not kidding…it really is free!
We will bring legislative aides, public servants, and our local nonprofit leaders together to discuss how to most effectively work together on important issues for the benefit of our community. And of course, there will be plenty of time for networking and holiday cookies, homemade by Thrive's staff and board.
Thrive and the Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits will bring together safety net agencies of San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties for a special convening to discuss how to strengthen the work in emergency assistance and safety net services and broaden the understanding of regional issues that affect vulnerable and underserved populations.

Last week, Thrive proudly hosted the second annual Nonprofit Career Summit & Job Fair to match local nonprofits with potential employees and volunteers. It was an amazing evening where dynamic connections were made. Early results show that a couple of job seekers were hired just a few days following the event - we look forward to hearing more stories unfold!
Our first Leadership Circle Luncheon of the season brought together a great group of nonprofit executives! We welcomed Superintendent-Elect Nancy Magee for a frank and forward-thinking discussion on how nonprofits can best facilitate school partnerships. More to come!
Box Skills Swap was a result of an exciting Thrive collaboration with Box.org. The goal was to create a space where their employees (Boxers) could offer their skills and expertise to collaborate with nonprofits on important projects to help them deliver on their missions.
