Art in Action: Warehouse Operations Manager

Art in Action is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including production and order fulfillment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all processes. This role focuses on maintaining high-quality standards for art kits, managing inventory in line with program demands, and fostering strong vendor relationships through cost negotiations. The manager will also supervise warehouse associates, coordinate volunteer experiences, and collaborate cross-functionally with sales and programs to streamline operations and support organizational growth. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential, along with a background in warehouse management. This full-time position is based in Redwood City, California.

About Art in Action:

Art in Actions mission is to provide an art curriculum that expands their knowledge in art techniques, cultural understanding, and core subject topics, along with providing the art supplies and training for educators and volunteers to bring the curriculum to life!

Responsibilities

Operations & Fulfillment

  • Lead warehouse operations, production, and order fulfillment to ensure accuracy and timeliness

  • Maintain high quality standards for all art kits

  • Forecast, purchase, and manage inventory to meet program demand

  • Analyze cost of goods and manage vendor relationships, including pricing negotiations

  • Oversee production workflows, inventory cycles and reconciliation (fulfillment, item setup, etc.)

  • Track and report on production and impact metrics

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment

    Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Supervise Warehouse Associates and coordinate volunteer experiences

  • Partner with Sales to support school needs and resolve fulfillment issues

  • Collaborate with Programs to source and refine art materials

  • Work cross-functionally to support organizational growth and goals

  • Represent the organization at events, including the annual fundraiser

  • Support corporate volunteer engagements and partnerships

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail

  • Proactive problem-solver with sound judgment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)

  • 3+ years of warehouse operations and supervisory experience

  • Experience with vendor management and cost negotiation

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (NetSuite a plus)

  • Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation

Compensation

  • Full-time (32 hours/week), in-person role

  • Based in Redwood City, California

  • Pay range: $33-$35/hr, commensurate with experience

  • Benefits: health, dental, vision, PTO, sick time, retirement

  • Must be able to lift 20–50+ lbs and perform physical warehouse tasks
